Distillery profile
- Tamnavulin was built in 1966 in the Livet valley, Speyside, during the blended whisky boom of the 1960s.
- The distillery was constructed by Invergordon and most production has historically gone into Whyte & Mackay blends rather than single malt bottlings.
- The classic Tamnavulin style is malty and light, the kind of malleable whisky that gives a blender flexibility.
- Tamnavulin closed in 1995 shortly after this cask was filled and remained mothballed until reopening in 2007. Stock from the pre-closure era captures a distillery style largely lost to time.
