Shipping & Delivery Policy
Overview
The Whiskey Lab, LLC (“The Whiskey Lab”) operates this website as a marketing and informational platform. We do not sell or ship alcohol directly.
All orders are processed, sold, and fulfilled by a licensed third-party retailer located in Washington, D.C. (the “Retailer”).
When you place an order through our site, your purchase is made from the Retailer (the seller of record). You pay the Retailer or its payment processor, and the Retailer fulfills and ships your order.
1. Place of Sale and Title Transfer
- All sales are completed in Washington, D.C. by the Retailer.
- Title and risk of loss pass to you in D.C. once your order is accepted by the Retailer.
- By purchasing, you authorize the Retailer, as your agent, to coordinate shipment with a common carrier (such as UPS) to your address.
- The Whiskey Lab does not handle, ship, or deliver alcohol products directly.
2. Shipping Availability
- Shipping is available within the United States only where permitted by law.
- The Retailer may decline or cancel orders that cannot legally be shipped to your location.
- Shipments are not available to the following states: Michigan, Utah, South Dakota, or Tennessee.
- Certain counties, ZIP codes, or municipalities may also be restricted within eligible states.
3. Age & Legal Compliance
By placing an order, you confirm that:
- You are 21 years of age or older;
- The purchase, shipment, and receipt of alcohol to your address are lawful;
- All products are for personal use only and not for resale.
Carriers and retailers reserve the right to verify identification. Orders in violation of destination laws may be canceled or refunded.
4. Adult Signature & ID Verification
All alcohol deliveries require an adult signature (21+).
Carriers will not leave packages unattended.
A valid government-issued photo ID may be required upon delivery.
Failure to provide proof of age or accept delivery may result in the return of your package.
5. Processing & Transit Times
- Please allow up to three (3) business days for the Retailer to process your order before shipment.
- Express services are prioritized but not guaranteed. Carrier transit times begin after order processing.
- During high-volume periods, weather events, or compliance checks, processing times may extend.
- Tracking information will be provided once your order ships.
6. Weather Holds & Quality Protection
The Retailer may hold shipments during periods of extreme heat or cold to protect product quality.
You will be notified if a weather hold is applied.
Important: While weather holds safeguard quality, they may delay or disrupt delivery.
The Whiskey Lab and the Retailer cannot be held responsible for any shipments that fail to reach their final destination after being placed on hold.
7. Delivery Attempts, Returns, and Reshipments
Carriers typically make multiple delivery attempts before returning an order.
If an order is returned due to:
- Missed signatures,
- Incorrect address, or
- Refusal of delivery,
the Retailer may charge return shipping, reshipment, or restocking fees per its policy.
Address changes or rerouting after shipment may not be possible and may incur additional costs.
8. Damaged, Leaking, or Incorrect Items
Please inspect your package upon delivery.
For breakage, leakage, or incorrect items:
- Follow the instructions in your order confirmation email to contact the Retailer directly.
- Keep all packaging until your claim is resolved; carriers or insurers may require photos or pickup.
- The Whiskey Lab can assist in coordinating with the Retailer.
