Blairfindy 30 Year Old, Statement No. 43
This is a single cask of Speyside single malt, distilled on 12th October 1992, matured in Scotland for 30 years, and bottled as Blairfindy by Blackadder in December 2022 at its natural strength of 51.3% abv. Cask number 4449, cask reference BF2022-1, yielded just 53 decanters. It is the smallest outturn in this entire shipment, Raw Cask, straight from the wood.
Blairfindy is a trade name, not a distillery. Some distilleries supply casks to independent bottlers on the condition that their name stays off the label, so the bottler adopts a discreet alias instead. Blackadder has used Blairfindy for decades for one particular Speyside malt, and the name itself is the clue: Blairfindy is widely understood among collectors to be Glenfarclas, the fiercely independent, family owned distillery in the heart of Speyside famed for its sherry cask maturation. Blackadder does not confirm the source, and neither will we. The whisky argues its own case.
Fifty three bottles is barely a cask's final breath. Statement No. 43 carries Blackadder's flagship designation, the number the family reserves for casks they judge definitive, and at 30 years old it represents a maturation few sherried Speysiders ever reach outside a distillery's own vaults. Once these 53 are placed, the cask is finished.
About Blackadder Statement
Blackadder International was founded in 1995 by Robin Tucek and remains a family operation, run today with his daughter Hannah and son Michael. The house philosophy has never changed: the cask is king. Every release is bottled without chill filtration and without added colour, and the Raw Cask series goes further still, bottled straight from the cask so that nothing standing between the wood and the glass is lost.
Statement is Blackadder's flagship series. A Statement number is reserved for the casks the family judges definitive, the finest whiskies to pass through their warehouse in a given era. The rarest of these are presented in glass decanters rather than standard bottles. This is Statement No. 43.

Cask number 4449 was filled on 12th October 1992 and matured in Scotland for thirty years before Blackadder bottled it in December 2022 under cask reference BF2022-1, at 51.3% abv with no dilution, no chill filtration, and no colouring.
As a Raw Cask release it was drawn directly from the wood. Fine cask sediment may be present in the decanter. Blackadder considers that sediment part of the whisky, not a flaw, and bottles it deliberately.
The outturn is 53 decanters worldwide, the scarcest release in this shipment, each accompanied by its certificate. The Whiskey Lab's allocation is a small fraction of that number.
