Cask Share

Reserve Now. We Bottle When It's Ready.

We selected six Speyside casks matured in refill bourbon and are re-racking each into first fill finishing wood. For every distillery, one cask goes into 1st fill bourbon and one into fortified wine. You get 4 bottles: a side-by-side comparison of the same spirit shaped by different casks.

Three distilleries. Three finishing casks. Bottled between 2028 and 2030.

Why Reserve a Share

This Is Not a Bottle You Can Buy in a Store.

01
Cask strength single malt under $110 a bottle.
Your all-in cost is between $81 and $106 per bottle depending on the distillery. That is cask strength, single cask, 13-15 year old Speyside single malt in premium glass with a custom label. Try finding that at retail.
02
A tasting experience you cannot get anywhere else.
You receive 2 bottles from a bourbon cask and 2 from a fortified wine cask. Same spirit. Same age. Different wood. This is how distillers and blenders learn what wood does to whisky. Most people never get to do this at home.
03
These casks do not exist yet. You are in before they do.
We are sourcing and re-racking specifically for this program. Your share secures the cask acquisition. When these bottles are ready, they go to share holders first. There is no second run.
What You Are Actually Paying

Why Re-rack

Two Casks. One Spirit. A Bigger Story.

Every cask in this program has matured for years in refill bourbon. We then split each distillery's spirit into two finishing casks: one 1st fill bourbon, one 1st fill fortified wine. Same spirit, same age, different wood. Your 4 bottles are a side-by-side comparison of how finishing casks shape flavor.

The Casks in This Program
1st Fill Bourbon
All Three Distilleries
After years in refill bourbon, the spirit moves into a fresh first fill American oak cask. This introduces a new wave of vanilla, butterscotch, and toasted oak. Your 2 bourbon bottles sit alongside 2 fortified wine bottles so you can taste the same spirit shaped by different wood.
Paired with Linkwood, Glen Elgin & Mannochmore
1st Fill Sauternes
Linkwood Finish
From the noble rot vineyards of Bordeaux. Sauternes casks carry honeyed apricot, beeswax, and candied citrus peel. These flavors complement Linkwood's orchard fruit and hay without overpowering its delicacy.
Linkwood 15 Year Old · 2 year finish
1st Fill PX Sherry
Glen Elgin Finish
Pedro Ximenez is the richest of sherry styles. Dark fig, date, raisin, and molasses. Glen Elgin's lush fruitiness already leans this direction. PX amplifies it into something layered and decadent.
Glen Elgin 14 Year Old · 3 year finish
1st Fill Tawny Port
Mannochmore Finish
Aged tawny port casks bring caramel, walnut, dried cherry, and a warm nuttiness. Mannochmore's floral, ester-rich spirit gains weight and complexity without losing its aromatic lift.
Mannochmore 13 Year Old · 4 year finish

FAQ
A cask share is a reservation of your portion of the liquid in 2 casks from the distillery you choose. For each distillery, we re-rack the spirit into one 1st fill bourbon cask and one 1st fill fortified wine cask. Your share is 2 bottles from each cask, 4 bottles total. The reservation covers the cost of cask acquisition and re-racking. Each distillery is limited to 50 shares.
4 bottles of single malt Scotch whisky. For each distillery, one cask is re-racked into 1st fill bourbon and one into a 1st fill fortified wine cask (Sauternes, PX Sherry, or Tawny Port). You receive 2 bottles from each cask so you can compare the same spirit finished in different wood.
Each distillery has a target bottling and delivery window around the holiday season of its bottling year. Linkwood: Holiday 2028. Glen Elgin: Holiday 2029. Mannochmore: Holiday 2030. We will communicate exact timelines as bottling approaches.
Claiming your share reserves your spot. An invoice will be emailed to you for payment of the reservation amount. The ~$100 bottling and import fee is a separate invoice sent at the time of bottling. No payment is taken through the website checkout.
This covers the cost of bottling and importing your bottles to the US. It is invoiced separately at the time of bottling because costs may shift between now and the bottling date. The real factor is tariffs at the time and freight costs. We estimate ~$100 per share but the final amount will reflect actual costs at that time.
Both. Pickup is available in the Washington, DC area at no additional cost. Shipping is available to most US states for an additional fee. We cannot ship to Michigan, Utah, South Dakota, or Tennessee.
Yes. You can claim multiple shares of the same distillery or across different distilleries. Each share is 4 bottles.
All cask share bottles will be bottled at cask strength or as close to it as possible. Bottles will be presented in Whispering Waters glass with a custom side label designed for each release.
If you need to cancel, your share can be made available for someone else to purchase. If your share sells to a new buyer, your reservation can be refunded. If it does not sell, your cask share is non-refundable.
The Whiskey Lab manages the entire process: cask sourcing, re-racking, warehousing, insurance, bottling, customs, and import. Your casks are stored in bonded warehouses in Scotland under professional management. You will receive periodic updates on your cask's progress.
