This is a pre arrival offering with a firm cutoff date. Timing is an estimate and can shift due to carrier schedules, port congestion, customs, or warehouse receiving.
Springbank 1995
01The Cask
Some casks are found. This one was kept. Filled at Springbank in 1995 into a single sherry butt, it has spent its entire life under one owner, in the distillery's own dunnage warehouses, yards from the stills that made it. Never re-racked. Never moved. Thirty years of slow Campbeltown air and first-class sherry oak, left completely alone.
Regauged in August 2026 at 196 RLA and a natural cask strength of 53% ABV. For a thirty-year cask to hold that strength is a sign of a cool, undisturbed maturation done exactly right.
02Why Springbank Matters
Springbank is the most sought-after distillery in Scotland. Family-owned since 1828, it malts its own barley on its own floors, runs a tiny output, and sells every bottle it makes many times over. Allocation lines form for its standard releases. Independent single casks at thirty years essentially do not leave the gates.
The distillery
Founded: 1828, Campbeltown
Owner: J & A Mitchell, the same family for nearly two centuries
Style: Oily, coastal, lightly smoky single malt, floor-malted on site, distilled two and a half times. The most traditional production process in Scotland, unchanged for generations.
Why this is rare
Campbeltown was once the whisky capital of the world. Three distilleries survive, and Springbank is its crown. Aged Springbank is among the scarcest whisky on earth: the distillery is small, demand is global, and casks this old under private ownership are nearly extinct. A full-term sherry butt at thirty years is the rarest form it takes.
03The Cask's Journey
The Rarest Tier We Bottle
Black Label is reserved for casks that redefine what Whispering Waters can be. Two releases have carried it in 2026. This is the third, and the first from Campbeltown.
Every bottle wears the new Whispering Waters black cap, hand-dipped in black wax over the closure. Presale bottles add free custom laser engraving, sized to the Sirius vintage bottle panel: a name, a date, a message, etched into the glass of a thirty-year Springbank. The product photo shows the personalization style from our Burnside release; the Black Label bottle shot follows soon.
04Why $2,000
You should know what you are looking at when you decide whether this price is fair.
The market comparable
The distillery's own comparable official release sits a full $1,000 above our presale price. Other independent bottlings of aged Springbank land higher still, when they surface at all.
We could have priced to match. We chose not to, because we want these 250 bottles opened by drinkers, not sealed in vaults.
What the price buys
Thirty years of single-cask maturation at Scotland's most allocated distillery. Full-term sherry oak, not a finishing cask. Provenance that reads in one line: one cask, one owner, one warehouse, since 1995.
At $2,000 presale against $2,500 retail, this is the strongest value we have ever put on a bottle, surpassing our Macduff 45 Year.
Pre-orders have not opened yet. You are seeing this page early because you were sent the link. 250 bottles arrive November 2026. Presale invitations go out the moment the release is confirmed, and when the bottles are allocated, they are gone.
Bottle numbers: when pre-orders open, request a specific bottle number in the order notes at checkout. Numbers are allocated first come, first served.
Pricing is final: discount codes do not apply to this release. Any order placed using a discount code will be cancelled and refunded.
