Quietly powerful single casks, guided by the sea

Quietly powerful single casks, guided by the sea

Whispering Waters salutes the Silent Service, the quiet craft of submariners, and Scotland’s sea-lore. In old tales the ceasg (“maid of the wave”) and selkies sometimes bless those who win their favor, granting gifts, safe passage, or notable seafaring descendants. Our mermaid mark nods to that good fortune. Each release is a single cask chosen for quiet depth and clarity. Natural color, non-chill filtered, always cask strength, whiskies that don’t shout, they reveal.

Underway to Shore After my Last Day at Sea

THE ORIGIN

Underway to Shore After my Last Day at Sea

In September 2015 I stepped off a submarine for the last time, lifted at sea by a fast boat and a new chapter. Whispering Waters is my nod to that world: calm on the surface, depth underneath. I select single casks for clarity and character. Natural color, non-chill filtered, often cask strength, and bottle them with the same discipline the Silent Service taught me. If you enjoy whiskies that reveal themselves rather than shout, this line is for you.

Sea-lore and the mermaid mark

The Mermaid Mark
Our label nods to Scotland's sea-lore. In Gaelic tradition, the ceasg, "maid of the wave," brings fortune to those who earn her favor. The mermaid mark signals the meeting of maritime roots and carefully chosen casks.
The Selkie Tradition
In Orkney and Shetland folklore, selkies are seal-folk who shed their sealskin to live as humans. Gentle, wistful figures tied to the shoreline. They frame our approach: respect for the sea and for quiet excellence.
