Built in 1972 to herald a new era for blended Scotch, its first spirit ran in 1974 and went straight into the engine room of J\u0026amp;B. When the distillery finally bottled a single malt in 1986, it was the first ever to carry the \u003cstrong\u003e'Singleton' prefix\u003c\/strong\u003e, the name Diageo would later build a global brand on. It was also an unsung pioneer of cask finishing, moving ex-bourbon whisky into ex-sherry casks before Balvenie or Glenmorangie made the practice famous.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDram Mor's take is the oldest whisky in this import: a \u003cstrong\u003e16 year old\u003c\/strong\u003e Auchroisk, distilled in 2009 and finished in a \u003cstrong\u003efirst fill bourbon hogshead\u003c\/strong\u003e that loads the distillery's malty, nutty spirit with vanilla and orchard fruit.
